REFLECTIONS OF 2016

Have you ever wondered how you got to where you are today? I was looking through the photos on my phone and came across one of me taken last year. The interesting thing is it is a mirror likeness of my Mum and made me think of her.

My mum was often ill whilst I was growing up but was the most compassionate person I knew. She always looked out for others and helped them whenever she could. If it was not for her I would not be the person I am today. Through her I have two wonderful children and three Grandchildren. I'm sure she is still watching over us all. If your parents are still with you please make your time count. If they have passed on then count your blessings for the memories you have.

This year I had to make a promise to myself to cut back on my charity donations after I was told by 2 Mediums that I had been giving away too much and needed to look after myself. This has been very hard so I only donated to one Charity this year. It's amazing though how many times in a month I had to say "no" to people. It was a big wake up call for me to be more aware of what I support in 2017.  It would be too easy to get compassion fatigue.

Wishing you all lots of love and happiness in 2017 and may we all spread love and light to help bring peace over all the world.

Say No to Dakota access pipeline

Today I went out of my comfort zone. I raised my first ever campaign. I felt so strongly about what is happening to the Indians in Dakota and felt I needed to do more. I would also ask that you to sign and share this if  you can. If it does not allow you to sign outside the UK why not replicate it and send it to your Foreign affairs minister like me. If you live in America you can send direct to your President.

We must have respect for the water that supplies millions of people including the Indians on the reservations. They way they are being treated is against humanity. Some were put in cages and numbers were put on their bodies. Does this remind you of another time? It certainly does for me.

The latest is President Obama says they will investigate rerouting which sounds great until you hear he will let it play for several weeks! This is why it is urgent as violence is escalating against the peaceful protestors.

Share the intention for PEACE and RESOLUTION for the WATER PROTECTORS

Today I am appealing for readers to send peaceful thoughts to Dakota. Considering I do not watch the news (which would probably be falsified anyway), I am continually being made aware of the problems at Standing Rock by people on site.  Healthy water gives life and burial places should remain sacred.  The interesting thing is the work was moved away from another place due to fears in case it contaminated the area. Why then does it make sense to move to another place where people also live? The company that want to run this pipeline through the area recently had a leak of their pipes in another area and contaminated the water there.

Today I read  this. This brought to mind the thousands of Bison who came down to be with the water protectors this week. They are believed to be very spiritual animals. I know that a lot of people in America read my blog.If you are anyone that can take peaceful action by contacting Government, please do so. I would appreciate everyone sharing the following links and getting as many people as possible to send peaceful thoughts any time tomorrow with the rest of us.  The more these links are shared all over the world we may be able to change things if it is known we are all watching!

Video from Lyla June- This is certainly worth reading.

International vigil for Standing Rock tomorrow ( Sunday)

It is so distressful to see the way the Water Protectors who are protesting peacefully are being treated.

SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE?

I have fun in the summer growing my own vegetables but its funny how they turn out different shapes from what you buy in the shops. They do not always conform. In actual fact today is the first time I picked a straight cucumber lol. I think that's what happens in life too. We are brought up to go to school, have a family, work and retire. That's the conforming most of us do and the art of really living can pass you by if you're not careful.

Each of my curled cucumbers tasted just as good as this straight one does  (I sneaked a slice). They all have their place in the kitchen even though they are different. Some people though feel that they don't fit in and it seems like they are always trying to do so. Is this you? People all have their own special talents and if the person sitting next to you does not recognise yours then that's their loss, not yours. Even to this day some people do not "get" reiki although the feedback from thousands over the globe is showing that yearly more people are being connected with it, even if it's just to get an hours relaxation.

Don't let anyone make you feel small. You are worth  your weight in gold and do not have to conform. Be like the cucumber and grow they way that's right for you, not everyone else. Live your life now and stop thinking you need to change! Try though not to be as prickly as the cucumber.

PS If you want to see more of the vegetables I have grown check out my Facebook Page. If you like my page and comment on my pinned post for a prize in the next couple of days you are in with a good chance of winning.

Living your life through love

Do you ever speak to a person who is a total inspiration? This week I did and I can't stop thinking of our conversation. I spoke on the telephone to a lady who was 84 years of age and she had a heart of gold. She had been previously treated for cancer and still keeps in touch with the doctor who treated her. She even wrote to the doctors mother to thank her for bring up her wonderful daughter so that she could help others including herself!

She also checks people that seem alone and sad and sits down with them until they change how they are thinking. She told me of one person she was walking past who had just had a family loss and was feeling angry. She sat with her at a beach and helped her to see her situation in a different light and advised her that the person was still around her and she could still talk to her. By the end of her conversation the load on the ladies shoulders was lightened.

She also advised me that she had been writing for years about all the wonderful things that had happened to her. I suggested putting it into a book and she took this onboard. It reminded me of all my jotting down about synchronicity since reiki came into my life.

Throughout this conversation she was telling me how fantastic both myself and the previous person she had spoken to were. She was full of praise for the help and patience we had both given her. I advised that I wanted  to thank her as I believe the way she lives her life is what we should all aspire to- helping others when we can and building them up. One of the things she mentioned was helping in a group and said it hurt to see people in their 60's who acted like 90 year old's. Maybe if people thought of what they could do for others instead of looking inwardly the world would be a better place. What do you think?

Healthy Lifestyle equals Happy families

A couple of weeks ago I had been planting vegetable seeds ( a bit late I know). I've now been bitten by the bug again and have ordered more. There is nothing like growing your own food, especially knowing that no chemicals have been added to it. It made me think of the health issues so many people have that would not have been around as much 20 years ago.  Why do you think that is?

I think it is made up in many parts. A big part is what we eat and breathe. People also do not seem as able to cope with stress. A little stress is good for us but life seems so much more stressful for many people. Lack of exercise is another problem as we have children spending time on games machines and adults who are couch potatoes. What would you do to change things?

I would start with making sure that what we and our children eat is in fact good for them. Research where your food comes from, what additives and chemicals may have been added to them and if they have been genetically modified in any way. Stop giving sugary drinks or low calorie drinks with Aspartame.  Make sure fruit and vegetables are eaten. You can hide these if required in juices. Get yourself a blender. Bananas and milk (preferably plant based such as almond milk) make a great milkshake. Compare that to shop bought with sugar, stabilisers and preservatives added. Check this out. Getting children to eat vegetables

Get the family outside to enjoy a walk or a cycle ride. Get into the country, if possible, away from all the vehicle pollutants. Take the family fishing or swimming. There is something outdoors to suit everyone. Often families nowadays have both parents working or you may be part of a single parent family. It's so easy to tell the children to go and play a game while you have to do another chore in the house. A much better idea is to get the children to help with the chores then all head out for some fresh air at least a couple of times a week. There is of course the gym and swimming pools for the days when the weather is bad.

Stress comes from many different areas of our our  lives. It could be caused by work, finances, health or the way we think. I remember years ago my team at work were getting stressed learning a new software programme. As we were training in groups I had not yet started learning. At the time I had been listening to Wayne Dyers The Secrets of the Power of Intention CD. I would highly recommend it. I advised them to try and think of it as lasting just a few hours and that they would then move on when they went home. This was instead of continually saying how much they hated it. After a few days a couple of them told me it really worked and they were no longer stressed. It just took a different way of looking at a situation. I had to remember this when it was my time to go through the training!

If you are on your own even taking a stroll in a local park would be good. Just taking time to sit in nature hearing the sounds of the birds is a great stress reliever. Another way to de-stress is to meditate. You tube has loads of videos. One of my favourite ways apart from cuddling my dogs is to put on  a few hours of meditation / reiki music in the background of whatever I'm doing. Of course I can't leave out the wonderful world of reiki itself. It is fantastic for relaxation and taking worries away. You can either go for a session with someone or take it to the next level and learn for yourselves.

Can I suggest you take a look at your life and see if changes need to happen? It may be to review what you are eating or if you are exercising enough. Remember too that what we teach our children is with them for life. Why not teach them to grow their own vegetables? That way they can see the cycle of the vegetables being grown to eat rather than thinking they just come from a shop. Starting them with a healthy lifestyle is one of the best gifts we can give them.
