Today I want to talk to you about the different types of people that may be in your life. If you have read The Celestine Prophecy you will be aware of 4 personality types. They are:
1.The Intimidator
2. The Aloof
3.The Interrogator
4. The Poor me
I'm sure we all know someone who is an Intimidator. They control you by being in charge and making you feel fearful. They intimidate you and are generally not nice to be around. Perhaps if you don't do what they want you may lose your job! You may be unlucky to work around this type of personality. The solution is to try and remove them from your life.
The Aloof person attracts your energy to bring attention to themselves then withdraws. How about these people that post on social media that something terrible has happened or they are at the hospital but don't say any more? They then have every one posting "How are they? What's wrong?". Of couse you are left hanging without getting an answer. You might also ask how their day was and the only response you get from them is "Fine".
The Interrogator can be similar to the Intimadator but makes you question yourself. They are never happy with whatever actions you have taken as they would have done differently. They will say things like " Why did you do that?" They will keep asking until they get answers from you, even if it's something you don't want to talk about. You may also find they constantly criticise you, always finding fault. It is one way for them to feel better about themselves.
The Poor me was me until I recognised this after reading The Celestine Prophecy. I was in a no money, bad roof, recently become a single mum situation. I was one of those people that if 2 things had gone wrong I was waiting for the 3rd? How many people do you know that think like that? I can think of loads. A poor me just wants someone to change their situation but it is really up to them to do this, not others. Even if you are sick and in bed, you can start by reading Self help books to change your Mindset.
Once you become aware of the different types of people around you it allows you to wake up and make changes in your life. My awakening was accelerated by learning reiki and I am now a totally different person to what I was all those years ago. Don't let people take charge of your lives, or if you see yourself as one of these personality traits, let this be a wake up call. We CAN all change our lives.

REIKI - THE WHITE LIGHT OF CHANGE
I was just filling in a questionaire about my business. It really made me think what I was doing with it. I will explain what I mean by that. Reiki to me is my life but when I started down this journey, I remember saying to my teacher at first that I was never going to treat another person. Instead I was doing it just for me. Of course that did not happen lol.
The next stage, when I trained to Teacher level, I again said this was just for me. I also said I would train 1 person only, which was my daughter. I remember him laughing at me as he just said "Watch this space!" So you see, I never meant to make reiki my business. For me it was a way to change my life for the better. The energy has a way of making things happen. Not only did I train my daughter, but I also trained her husband plus two of my Grandchildren!
First after level 2 I was asked to work in a therapy shop at weekends and I found I loved working with people. Then about 9 months after teacher level training I was telling a group of people where they could train in Glasgow when a friend asked what about me? She also said the last 3 times she was out with me people started talking about reiki. Was that not a sign? I agreed to get a website built but said I would not advertise, as if it was meant to happen that I got business through it then I would.
Next a friend came to visit and built me a website. My first very own site. I was so proud of it and her for making it for me. Within the space of a week I had people requesting all stages of training! I still was not confident so agreed to go and have coffee with someone through the Free economy website. She wanted to talk about reiki and eventually asked if I would train her. No money changed hands but after that workshop, not only was she trained but I felt super confident in teaching!
The rest, as they say, is history. It became a hobby that I did for love. Gradually it became a part time business. I found I love teaching small groups of people about reiki and how it can help their lives change as it did for me. For something that I learned orginally to help myself, I am so grateful for how many others lives I have touched through the years. If you have either been trained in reiki or had a therapy session from me, I want to thank you all for being in my life. Wow. I feel so emotional now.
Thanks
Joy

Changes For Your Better Health
I hope you are all having a good week. Today I was looking at a photo I took this week that shows my garden cut into light and darker areas. It made me think that sometimes darkness can overcome people but all it needs is to let a little chink of light in to start seeing some changes. The plant at the front of my photograph was planted almost 21 years ago and was not thriving at all so my wonderful neighbour moved it for me. Within a couple of weeks it started budding and is now growing at a good pace. Plants are like people that if you stick them where they are uncomfortable they will not grow. All mine needed was a change of location. The dogs are my bonus lol.
Sometimes people get stuck in a place they don't want to be either mentally or emotionally. A lesson I learned this week (and should have known better) was not to concentrate on what you were unhappy with. As soon as I reminded myself of this my outlook changed. I know some people have a lot of dark times but the best suggestion I can make is to try to get out when you are in a good place and look for the chink of light that you can use when you are pulled into the depressive mode. It may be joining a group that you have a hobby for, or even taking a walk by the sea. Make the time when you are in a better frame of mind to do things that make you happy and hopefully this will help you through the other times. It may even be that relocating or moving to another job will free your mind from your current stress. Treat yourself if you can to a holistic treatment. This could be a massage, reiki, reflexology or anything you feel drawn to. It's important for you to do something that treats you!
If I ever feel down I just need to cuddle up to my 2 dogs and their friend in the photo. Dog hugs say it all.

Time Changes Thoughts
What a difference a month makes. My last post spoke about my burglary so I thought I would give you a little update. The police caught the thief and called me to say they might have some of my jewellery. They asked if I had someone past or present with the name Daisy. That was my mothers name. They had recovered a tiny silver heart pendant with her name on it. When I posted this the person that had given it to her spoke up that she had mum's name put on the pendant. This person grew up like a sister to me. A few days later I went to The Edinburgh College of Parapsychology and guess what? My mum came through and said I now had her pendant. It was great to have confirmation that she watches over me.
It has taken me time to get over feeling my house was violated and I was unable to see any reiki clients but I'm pleased to say that my house feels like my own again now and I ran a workshop last week and had a client and the atmosphere in my home is back to how it should be. These things are meant to make us stronger and I know that memories are more important than material things that have been lost. One of the pieces of advice I was given from the Police which I would like to pass on is not to keep valuables in your bedroom. They suggest kitchen and bathrooms to be used instead.
One of the things to come out of this is I have replaced windows and am getting an alarm fitted. I will also come out of this with having no valuable items in the house either as I shall not be replacing what I lost but I have been having fun on Groupon and Ebay! The first piece of jewellery I saw and bought was earrings in the shape of Daisies! Thanks again mum.
My last post was It's okay to not be okay. Now I can say recovery waits just around the corner. Things can always change. This week I was told I always went into work happy even with what was going on in the home. My answer was the day goes faster if you are / act happy. Eventually it stops being an act and is just the way you are. Our emotions change if you allow them too and I can only say I'm pleased to be back to my usual happy self!
Next weekend 20/21 May 2017 I am running a Usui reiki level 2 in Edinburgh
Sunday 28 May 2017 I will be teaching Usui reiki level 1 in Edinburgh

Change Your Mindset, Enjoy Your Life
In my daytime job I speak to people with all sorts of vulnerabilities. This could be an elderly person that has not spoken to anyone for a few days or someone terminally ill. Often those that are in a really bad place health wise are those with the light shining from them. One phrase I often hear is " There is always someone worse than me". People can be so resilient even when in chronic pain. The opposite are those that believe everyone is against them and only think of what they cannot do. It shows time and again that mindset has a big part to play in how we live our lives.
I remember many years ago reading the Celestine prophecy thanks to my friend Lorraine who advised me she was bringing this book when she visited me in the summer. A couple of weeks later a parcel dropped through my letter box with the words to read it as it couldn't wait till summer! I could not put it down and have now read all the sequels. The main thing that comes out of the book is we are all one of 4 groups of people. They are intimidator, poor me, aloof and aggressor. At that time I found I was a poor me. Everything was going wrong and I felt like a victum. This book was a wake up call for me. Once I saw how my mind was working I took notice and tried to correct my thinking to be more positive. This became easier to do as time went by and reiki helped me immensly too.
It is all about Mindset. If you live in the darkness you will only see this. If you start by having a chink of light in your life then you will find this expands. Every day I look for something I am grateful for in my life. When you think this way more things throughout the day come into your mind that you are happy about. Many of the people I talk to will have a laugh when we chat as they know they cannot change the situation but it does not stop them enjoying life.
There will always be others such as a deceased relation of mine that for the last few years of her life, everytime we visited, the words from her were always "Why am I still here? I don't want to be here." This was such a shame as she could have had so much to enjoy with what was in her life at that time. It also made it depressing for anyone visiting her. You can't change everybody but you can at least try by giving them things to look forward to.
Recently I saw a video of elderly people being taught how to use computers. (Video)They each had a young person that helped them set everything up and who eventually connected all the elderly to each other in a chat room. These were people who had met at a daycare centre and now could connect from their own homes. I thought the video was awesome and the people involved thought so too. To see their faces as they chatted to their friends was so good. This was brought home to me by chatting to a 95 year old man who used his computer daily yet I can speak to people from 50 years onwards who think they are too stupid to learn. One 84 year old was bought a laptop by her daughter who also paid for a training course with Apple to make sure she knew how to use it. Already she was able to look up information on line and was proud to have an email address! I have also seen on the web that AgeUK run computer courses as well. You are never too old to learn or change your mindset! Be positive and look for the good in each day.
